How to make perfect instant pot rice

If you often wonder how to keep a high protein diet, how to meal prep efficiently. Or you simply need some new and healthy dinner, lunch and breakfast ideas, we have all that and more!

The instant pot can make perfect rice! I have been using mine to make rice for years, you’ll find Instant pots are especially great for meal prepping large quantities of rice. I make 6 cups at a time for myself and my partner. Also rice is a great addition to your diet if, especially if you’re exercising a lot. It’s also super versatile. Check out some of our other recipes for some ideas for great healthy rice-based recipes!

In this recipe I use Thai jasmine rice that we got from costco. I find this rice perfect for the instant pot. It’s easy to store and keeps in the fridge for just over a week. Which makes it great to have after a workout, just heat it up in the fridge and enjoy it with your favourite protein, or one of our other recipes!

Anyway I dont need to talk about it anymore here is how you make it.

Equipment

  • 1 instant pot

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups white jasmine rice
  • 9 cups water

Instructions
 

  • Wash your rice. I put all the rice into the instant pot and fill it half full with water. Then I mix up the rice and drain. I repeat this 3 times. This removes the starch and anything stuck on the rice.
  • Add 9 cups water to the rice. 1.5 cups for every one cup of rice you added.
  • Set in the instant pot on manual 10 minutes. Once it's finished leave it on pressure release for 10 more minutes.
  • Serve and enjoy!
